Had a tough day, marked some scattered fish deep in the channel in front of aqualand and could only get one taker. It was a small stripe , about 4 pounds. Moved up to Browns Bridge and caught 2 spots and 2 channel cats, both the cats fell in the cooler. Water was 80 degrees when I left at 1 p.m. and it was definately getting busy.

I marked some fish at the mouth of Flowery Branch. Had one pull down, but between the jet skis and cabin cruisers it was hard to keep the boat let alone any rods where you wanted them. Thank goodness for labor day and beginning of football season to clear the lake on the weekends.

I too found it very tough out there today! I managed one big fish on by power reeling. I marked some good fish in the river channel bend at Orr crk and some by FB.
I don't believe I have seen it any rougher on the lake, from frothing boat wakes this year. If every day was like today I believe I could find a new lake to spend my time. LOL

I was gonna say something about how rough it was, but did'nt want to sound like a wuss. At the last place I went I could'nt keep the trolling motor in the water. Probably the roughest I've ever seen.

Sounds like I didn't miss too much today. Looking forward to the rest of the week. See you on the lake.

I did about the same on Sunday. I caught a 5lb Striper near OC1 in 112' fishing 60' down. Marked groups of 3 to 5 fish at a time. Moved to Lanmar/Port Royale, caught a 6 lber doing the same. Caught the fish between 10:30 and 11:30. I was eating 3-4 wakes at Lanmar. Not fun.

I too fished Labor Day. Water temp was 78.5 at 9am and 79 a bit later. You guys aren't kidding about the big boats... I feel like I rode a mechanical bull. I fished the river channel on the south end, and only caught a 5-pounder. It was a bit off of the channel, in 70 feet of water, about 50 feet deep.

We caught one in Two Mile. Fish disapeared from Aqualand?. We had two catamaran's buzz me on each side with a helicopter flying over them filming video. I could hit any of the three with a cast. All I could do was laugh and ask myself why I would fish on Labor Day. I felt like the rescue boat at a offshore race.

This was a special day to forget! I found a number of good fish, and they wouldn't hit any better then the moron's of lake had sense. Please tell me that someone else has noticed the giant amount of english boat driver's. I can't believe how many people run down the lake on the wrong side and will almost run over you to pass you on the right!!! UNREAL

I've always felt if I can cast and hit a boat it's to close, not others fishing of course. I've often thought about putting a 2oz egg on my 7' spinning rod with 30lb braid...

I always keep my "people rod" ready! Whos side is the possum police going to be on if you hit somebody with a cast. Is'nt 100 feet the minimum b/w boats.
