Two teams, Striper Express & Team Biggers, joined forces today for the Lanier Striper Club monthly tournament. I tagged along to take pictures, rig, and pass-out food and refreshments. Fishing started slowy but the pace quickened as Captain Saknini and Co-Captain Sitton put their downline strategy into play south of Flat Creek. Staggering the depths of the downlines resulted in some takedowns but no hookups. The captains suggested that the fish might bite if the crew members would engage in power reeling and that strategy resulted in nine quality stripers; total length of the best two was 58 inches which was good for second place. All teams met at 1:00 at the Tiki Hut for lunch which was provided by the Islands and paid for by the club. tom
