Fished today from 7:30 until 2:30. Ended up with 6 in the boat and 4-5 early releases. No whoppers, but it beat the heck out of yesterday when another anonymous forum member and i got skunked (identities have been hidden to protect the innocent). The bait in some areas has not been lasting nearly as long as it did a few weeks ago, more like the normal summer pattern than it has been this summer. All my fish today were caught over deep water with a relatively clean bottom. No areas that i caught fish last Saturday did i mark anything worthy of drop.

Ran into Dan Duncan and finally made the formal introductions with he and his child bride Janet. We had crossed paths in the past, and rarely a weekend passes that i do not see him on the water, but it is good to be able to finally do a real meet and greet. Next time we run across each other at mid-day Dan, we are going to run over to Aqualand and i'll buy you lunch.

Brett, It was a pleasure meeting you and your guide dog Riley! and having lunch one day would be great.

Janet and I went at it again today and we found some nice fish as well. Today was still tuff, and we had to do alot of hunting in order to do some catching. We marked for two hours before dropping bait, but when we finally found them we caught some nice fish fast. My lovely wife again stomped me, when she boated a nice 17# fish for the big one of the day! (sure wish we would have had that one yesterday in the tournament) but she still fished our way to a win!

I must tell you, now that Brett coins "My child bride", and big daddy calling her the "striper deva", HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO HANDLE HER NOW!!!LOL

Another great day on the pond, and hope to meet more of you as time goes on. I also would love to fish with some of you in this next season. Many thanks for nice comments, good laughs, and great fishing.

We are very lucky to still live in the greatest nation, and place on earth. TIGHT LINES MY FRIENDS laugh

See ya'll on the pond soon, I hope before hunting season,.

Just checked in on the post and again I'm all grins. Dan, I'm afraid to say that Backlash and Brett are right on. You guys got it right. I believe the Bopper had the original hit.
Brett I nominate you for qoute of the week, "JLL was just a cover" now that's a music lover.. And leave to the old guys to get it right. Bopper was waaaayyy before Big D's time. LOL huh?

Don't get me wrong The Killer is the man, he really lived the life. He just didn't write or originally preform the song. But he did have the child bride!
