Today the fish were on fire. Everything seemed strange this morning. I can not explain it. First thing the bait was all over the surface which was a litle odd since it is not a full moon. Also which was more strange, I saw 15 blue heron all on one point feeding on the bank. I have never seen this before being they are territorial and it was not in a nesting area. I wish I would of had a good camera. The fish continue to be on a 30 to 40 ft bottom and we are downlining 25 to 28 ft deep. Today, the fish just continued to bite and never leave an area. Be sure to take plenty of bait or you may regret it.

Which areas seem to be holding the fish the best since the water levels have plumeted? Six Mile, young Deer Creek, Wahoo, Flat Creek?

I have been fishing on the north end everday. I do know some customers who are catching fish down south as well . Overall, the fishing is really good all over the lake.

I have been fishing around the Simpson Park and Lanier Point area and have not been marking a thing on my fish finder. Do you have any suggestions as to grey scale settings etc. to help maybe with my view under the boat. I currently have an Eagle depth finder but will be upgrading to a Lowrance as soon as $ are available to do so.

Takindrag,

I have a $99 Eagle finder and I have marked alot of fish with it. My sensitivity level on the Eagle is set at roughly 90%. The stripers show up as solid medium gray long arches usualy over the bottom of the display. Keep on looking and you will get over some fish, you will know when you are over some fish and they graph.

i have a 4 year old eagle fishmark 320 on the bow mounted trolling motor that has worked flawlessly. My lowrance LMS332C on my console has just quit for the second time in 18 months. Really frustrating since it seems to go out during the hot months when a depth finder is absolutly necessary for finding the fish. THe eagle is a fine unit for the money. i'm hoping for better luck with the unit lowrance sends me to replace the 332c. I am going to install a battery on/off switch to try to help with the problem.
