Fishing was tough over the weekend with the wind especially saturday. Fished two trips on sat and we caught more fish on sunday than we did combined on the two trips saturday. The few fish we caught came on fairly large trout 80 ft behind the boat in bays off the main channel and in the mouth of the creeks. Looks like the wind should lay down tomorrow so the fishing should rebound quickly especially with the cloud cover coming in mid-week. Did catch one this morning on a 1/4oz. bucktail tipped with a white fluke jr.

Hey Clay, How are you working the smaller buck tail and are you beating the banks with it yet?

Steady retrieve with an occassional hop. Beating the banks will come later. Still throwing it to schooling fish.

Was fishing with 1/4 oz bucktail with no fluke & couldn't seem to get much distance. I was using a spinning reel on a 7 ft rod with 30 lb braided line. Might the line have been too heavy? What line weight would you recommend?

I have a spinning reel with 10# braid on it and it casts the smaller bait perfect. I'm throwing the 7' rod too. Hope this helps....
