Just received this e-mail from Nick Jameson at the DNR.
Traditionally, Lake Lanier receives 10 fingerling stripers per acre or 380,000 fingerlings. Stocking numbers vary annually depending upon production limitations or surplus fish. Lanier received 424,096 stripers this year which averages to 11.2 fish per acre. I suppose you could say we received approximately 44,000 extra fish the year.
I sent an email back asking if there were some way to increase this or even if it was a good idea to do it.
