Sorry about late post not good for Sunday fishermen. Fished south end. Found fish over 90-100' bottom near/on main lake channel. Fish at 40' were mostly "window shoppers". Lowered bait to 60' and WOW what a difference. Bait was lively for about 10-12 minutes unless "someone" ate them. Found fish at/near Shady Grove Park. Also further south near mouth of Young Deer Creek in main channel area. Caught numerous "beauties". Most 7-8 lbs., one nice size about 14-15 lbs. CAUTION: lost one very nice fish at net, hook broke in the curve area, probably damaged using pliers to remove on previous fish, must have tore up the shank enough to allow snap. Should check closer. Parked/launched at Charleston. Parking was better since holiday, only fishermen early I guess. Water temp 79F early and wind was southwest/west maybe 5 mph. Good luck fishing from Capt. Dave Bush & crew fishing aboard the "Lady Rose".

We fished from daylight to 1:30 and found several large schools of fish that we were able to stay on for 30-45 minutes at a time. We had two boats out and we were able to catch and release 20 fish total. Fish ranged in size from 7# up to over 22#+. We also fished Sunday in the same areas and found the schools again, and caught an other 14 stripers 6# to 14# between the two boats. The real kicker was the 7 1/2# walleye. He did not make it back into the water to swim an other day. I have some pictures but do not know how to post.

Dave,
I was out Saturday morning calaibrating a new fuel flow gauge. Did not bring any rods but I was motoring about 75 yds from you when you boated one striper and had a second hookup right after it. Looked like you were having a good morning.

Here are a couple of the pics Doc.

Best fish of the weekend:

Here's the Walleye ready for dissection:

I was on the other boat Sat we didn't have as good of a morning and had only caught 2 when they headed out. From 1:30 till 4:30pm dead quiet but as the next peak started we lit'em up for an hour boating 9 fish with the biggest at 15.2#

The 9 were caught near the sisters on the 2 mile side. The fish were suspended 60-80 feet down over a 93 foot bottom. You had to be in an area about 20 yards in diameter to get hooked up. When the wind blew us off the spot the bite died, as soon as I got us back over'em you could almost count to 10 and you'd hear the drag sing. Two other boats near us didn't catch a thing during that time. At one point we had a triple and two of us managed to boat all 3. We also lost one in the trees that had to be in the upper teens to low twenty's.

I felt bad for the guys on the other boats cause I've been there more often than not. By far this was the best day I've had on the lake yet.

Hey....I've caught that striper before \:D

Nice stripe. Congratulations on the eye - you really don't see all that many of them caught from Lanier (at least I don't).

Great to hear of good fishing trips. I've got to get out more right now.

Too bad that Walleye didn't make it...YEAH RIGHT! YUM!!!

Finally got back out on the lake Sunday. Didn't realize how much I've been missing it. For a while, the wife and I just sat out in front of Y-D Creek, relaxing. Wanted to see some of ya'll round 'em up, but left my good set of eyes back at the house.

Also, we found some VERY nice striped fish schools just in front of C-T Cove. Too bad for them I was only serving Rooster Tail for lunch...could have been a slaughter! Figuratively speaking of course. \:\)

I CAN'T WAIT until the cool weather comes...hopefully with some wet mixed in. Got some catching up to do!

Jimpal, it was good seeing you. You've done some sho'nuff healing. I really believe you deserve that new boat. Just go ahead and get it. \:D

By the way, thanks for keeping the Summer Reports up guys.

Glad to see a walleye! I'm a yankee and cut my teeth on fishing fishing for walleye. Very tasty fish! That was a nice one I must say. May have to break out the planer boards and Hot-N-Tots. Chrome/black back and chrome/purple back were big producers for large eye's back home. 6" long A's are great to. It'd be nice to catch a cooler full of those!
