The striper fishing remains the same. Most of the fish being caught are good size just the numbers are not great most days. Free lines using planer boards and balloons are the best choice. Start in the back of the larger creeks and work your way out. The larger baits are the best choice right now. A few fish continue to be caught on very small threadfin as well but this will taper off daily. Starting to see more and more bass up shallow as well. The best bet for the bass has been free lines using herring. The herring are fairly large so be sure to up size your hook to a 3/0 octopus. The water is warming and the fishing is going to improve daily. Yesterday the water temp was around 53 degrees in most places. The best fishing has been early in the morning and late in the evening. Had a couple people ask me what I consider early in the morning and late in the evening. To clarify, I mean from 6:30 to 8:00 in the morning and 5:30 to 7:00 in the evening. More fish will start to show up mid-day as the water temps. rise. Yesterday, a fair number of fish were caught mid-day. See you on the pond.
