Anybody got a report for the "Forgotten Coast". Carabelle, Apalachicola, Cape San Blas, Port St. Joe, Mexico Beach...

You should be able to find something online. I checked the Florida Sportsman fishing 4cast but it doesn't specifically talk about those areas.

I'm thinking about trying Tybee Island. Only about 3-1/2hrs from my house (live on the southside) and it sounds like the trout, redfish and flounder are biting pretty good right now. I definitely want to try the tarpon fishing in September. I've been by the bait store there and the guy is very willing to share info on where to fish and what bait/lures to use. He has a good website that posts a report a couple of times a week. The store is Tybee Island Bait & Tackle.

I have a trip planned to Pensacola in July. Looked like a pretty good deal. I am renting a house in Pensacola that is on a canal and comes with a 17' center console with GPS & fishfinder. It's not too much more than a hotel and much easier than pulling my boat down with the entire family in the car. The house has a pool so hopefully the kids won't miss the beach too much (will have to drive there).

Haven't been to Pt. St. Joe in ages. I will have to try it again sometime.

Never in my life...WOW, a rental property that comes with a CC! Very cool BFISH! We like it alot on the "Forgotten Coast". Guess I've got a bit of the "OLE FART" syndrome in me. Can't stand to be around the "noisy types" all the time...need a break from em'.

I hear ya! Another place I like is New Smyrna Beach, FL. The intercoastal there has great fishing and Mosquito Lagoon (deserves it's name) is top notch for redfish and speckled trout. It's a beach town but more family oriented...nothing like Daytona Beach. There is a guide I used to use there, an old mullet fisherman, that always put us on a limit of speckled trout with a few nice redfish thrown in. We always had a 5lb plus trout on each trip as well, which is awesome. I actually saw the guy on a fishing show not too long ago. He's an old salt but a very nice guy and knows the water probably better than anybody.
