Went out yesterday around 10 am in the middle of the nasty weather with Chris (the guy I sold my boat too). We put in at Balus and fished there for a while with a spread of just about everything with not much action. Just some window shoppers and a few pull downs but no hooks ups. We pulled up and moved to a creek nearby. Fished shallow with a spread of Trout, Gizzies and bbs. We got a 15 pounder within about 5 minutes and then it was quiet again for about 2 hours. We pulled up again and where going to head down to one of the midlake creeks when we saw the birds working a point(gulls and loons). We cut the motor and put out a spread really fast and it was on. In the next 2 hours we caught 6 Nice stripes(8-17 lbs) and 3 or 4 big spots including one really fat 6 lbs. We also lost a couple nice ones in all the chaos. basically they were feeding and hitting anything we put in the water. We even through a small cpt macks jig with a fluke and caught one. We caught them on trout, bbs and Gizzies. I think the bigger fish came on Gizzards. Then it calmed down and the sun came out and we dried out a little. Awesome day even with the weather. These were the fattest fish I've ever seen. fish that normally weighed 10 lbs were 14 or 15.

Great report. Thanks for the details. I am headed out tomorrow in what seems like will be similar conditions. Landing a few fish sure does make lousy weather worth it.

BTW, I sent you a PM a while back. Did you ever get it? We need to hook up some time.
