We caught 35 crappie and a spot. Water was right at 50 degrees, and was plenty stained still, with some debris here and there.

My friend Richard and his son went with me and my daughter. The kids reeled in most of those 36 fish (in 4 or 5 hours).

These are the two biggest crappie. One is 12.25 inches and the other is 13 inches.

Using minnows or jigs?

no minnows. All caught with curly-tailed grubs, trolling.

The real key is to have enough snacks for the kids, and to use the word "crappie" as much as possible. Such as, "My hands smell like crappie.". LOL

Charles,

Nice job. How deep is the water you are trolling in.

Thanks, guys.

bigfish -- the water went all the way to the bottom of the lake. laugh Water was 16 to 21 feet deep, with most fish caught over a 17 to 18 foot bottom. The bigger two were in 20 to 21 feet of water.

Dan -- I wouldn't go that far, but something with "crappie" in the title might fit.
