Headead out to the lake this morning but did not put any Stripers in the boat, from the Pictures on the graph

I was sure to at least get a double or triple but not even a single, what am I doing wrong besides bringing only small, med,lg trouts..? but anyways since I didn't get any Stripers In the boat I took my anger out on the crappies

Water Temp was at 52, Fishing the North End

Those screen shots are insane. Were the trout alive?? JK. That hurts your feelings when you find fish like that and dont get a sniff. Your heart starts pounding waiting on a rod to load up. Maybe they are wanting smaller bait like threadfins now. Thats why I always try to take a few bluebacks and a couple of gizzzys. You wonder if they might have hit one of those but probably not lol. Still hard to believe they wouldnt eat anything you put in there face.

Atleast you did make something of the trip getting some slabs. Nice job.

That enough to make the grease stink!!

If you were fishing for stripers consider filling out the angler survey.

Thanks for the report.

The worst part of it was that I was on these fish for 30 minutes.. tried everything, power reeling, long/short 10/12 lbs leaders, even COLOR my sinker black, only thing I didn't try was use a different kindof bait beside trouts.. The screen shot was full of bait, bait that I didn't have... I might need to head out to SC and buy me some TNT fire cracker

The data is best reported if it is for every trip skunk or not. Part of the data the DNR looks at is hours on the water to fish caught, so a skunk report is just as valuable data as one you caught fish. In fact it is probably even more valuable because few folks fill out skunk reports and it skews the data to look like people are more successful than they really are.

For example, lets say you went fishing 5 times and averaged 6 hours on the water per trip. You skunked 3 times, caught 1 fish one trip and 3 fish another. Your real average was 4 fish for 30 hours on the water, but if you just reported your catching trips it would be 4 fish per 12 hours on the water. That is a massive difference.

Please report all your trips skunk or not!!!

Thanks to Simon and everyone else who reports regardless of your success. The data is vital to getting the DNR to understand the current state of Striper fishing on the lake.

Simon, not sure where you were on the north end, but you could have got those fish on u rigs. That's the only way I have been able to get them on that side of the lake.

Very nice crappie man! How did you go about catching them?

Nice crappie, Simon. That would have been great to get tons of crappie and a bunch of striper, too.

I watched them tear up threadfins Sunday. Wouldn't take anything I threw at them. They had the threadfins surfaced over 100ft of water, sea gulls diving, loons diving, and stripers and spots roaring through. Awesome yet sickening sight when you can't catch them!
