I had the opportunity to jump in the boat with Dan Dand Brett to fish the Lanier Club TX this past Saturday. We had a blast! We caught 3 stripers and 2 bass. We had 2 fish early and struggled for a bigger fish. We started hearing reports that someone had 63 inches. We had 58. We fished solid bait for a few hours
and no takers. We moved to the secret spot and dropped our baits. We were about to stop downlining and put out the dreaded umbrellas. As Dan is setting up the Lowrance to start the troll when I see Brett's rod hit the water. Brett sees the rod bob a little and grabs the rod. The fish is fighting very little. Dan looks over and says "bass huh". At this point that ticked the fish off and he goes screaming off. It is a good fish. Brett plays the fish expertly and we land the 34.5 inch fish.WE now think we have enough to win. Great day with some great guys. soon capt. Jim will take his place back on the boat and I will be a spectator again but I did have fun. We did win the tx! Thanks for showing me around guys and I will go whenever you have room!

Nice. That was a bass alright, one with stripes. Glad to hear the catching is still good. Now I'm curious -- what were the top place lengths? Any pictures (you know, because we've never seen any of you guys with big fish lol).

we had 66 1/2, 2nd was 63 1/2, and I don't remember the rest.
