Man, i want to fill out one of the surveys but my last two trips have been all fishing and no catching. Did see a couple of deer fighting Friday 1/06. What is with all the loons around four mile. I must have seen 50 or more this week end all in that one area.

If I'm not mistaken the fact that you did not catch any fish in a given length of time is probably just as important to the DNR statistics.

Maybe someone else can confirm or refute that.

It is more important to fill out the fishing only, lol, reports. The dnr needs info that we are fishing for hours and hours and catching just a few fish. Just fill in the fish caught as 0 and the hours fished.

Time spent with no catch is very important. I have filled out several surveys that way.

Please record all trips, successful or not. The DNR wants people to catch fish, if peopel stop fishing due to lack of success then the need to DNR lessens. Successful fishing = job security. So if fishing is tough, DNR needs to know that. It's very important to record ALL trip.

If you only recorded your successful trips, it would look like you caught fish everytime you hit the lake, you success ratio was %100 and that EVERYTHING is just great.

From reading the boards, it sems as though it has been good winter, but when was the last time mid Jan water temps were around 50? If fishing wasn't pretty darn good in with mid Jan water temps of 50, then it would indicate a possible serious problem.

How has the average size been? Are many smaller 3-5lb fish being caught?
