Just a note to let every one know the crappie fishing on Oconee is just starting to get reel good. When the crappie fishing gets going this time of year we are talking about big fish. One to two lbs avarage with some going over the 3lb mark. From the middle of Jan. to the end of Feb. is big fish time.
The other little side note is the striper/hybird fishing on Oconee is as good as I have seen it for Dec. Not the big fish that are on Lanier, but lost of fish. This is what I call kids fishing. Action almost all day. Most of the fish are from 3 to 6lbs. But we do get them up to 10 from time to time. This is a great way to introduce young people to the fishing world.
