Usually the night before I go fishing I look at the weather channel for the weather then I look at there fishing forecast tables. I also look at Up On Lainer to see if anyone posted any tips on fishing locations and I look at Oneills fishing forecast. They are usually totally different. I put in Lake Lanier on the weather channel. Does anybody know why its like that? I never make a decision on those just fun to look at but dont know why there so different. I guess between the both of them its always good to go fishing.

Obviously they dont mean much. If you look at Oneills forecast for today it was at the very bottom of poor from 9 to 12 when we got both those stripes.

I could never figure out how those hourly charts work, but if you use John Alden Knight theory, peak periods are when the moon rises, sets, is overhead, or underfoot. Peek days occur when one or more (max 2 in a day) peak periods occur close to sun rise or set. How close the moon is to being new or full is also considered.

This week should be very good.

I think it had something to do with the wind...for some reason I think that the wind had been blowing steady for they whole weekend and the fishing was crappy for everyone...and then we had that hour when the wind seemed to die down a little and thats when the bite was on.

Solunar is not much more than tidal effect. High tide happens when the moon is overhead and underfoot. Low tide occurs when the moon is rising or setting. When full and new moons occur the earth, moon, and sun line up resulting in greater tidal forces.
