Clay, still getting "access denied" here.
I was able to access the lanierstripedbasscoalition.org site directly.
No problem

Mike, Clay, Bryan, Brett, Larry: Wow! Super job. That is an awesome website and concept. This is going to change striper fishing on Lanier forever. I just completed my first angler survey. Remind me again who is going to have access to this information?

Don't forget to thank Tom Blackburn, he has been instrumental in getting the LSBC - he's no on the board, but has been working very hard to get things going.

Mr. B, Anthony Rabern and myself has access to the data. As the administrator of the website, there isn't a way from me to remove myself. If there are any concerns about the data being missed used, all I can do is give everyone my word that it will not be. As an added protection you do not have to use your real name - use Luke Skywalker if you want (just keep using Luke for all your enteries), nor do you have to enter a location.

The location is not that important to the fisheries people. Number & size of fish caught & boat hours expended in catching them are the key metrics needed.

Thanks for the postive feedback. We have been working very hard to get everything going so Lanier's stripers have an advocate.

Hats off to Tom B. Thanks for the clarification Mike. I don't mind giving my name and locations, but I can see how some people will wimp out. I've always told people what/when/where if they ask me. I don’t catch enough fish to justify or have a negative enough mindset to hold back information that is going to help our sport.

Plus (Nick and I were joking about this) if you put a survey in, and didn’t tell anybody else about your trip, then the next day there a bunch of boats are on your stop (assuming it's not a "typical popular spot"). It would be obvious the tool is being misused and the trust would be out the window. Which would shut the whole thing down. Which isn’t going to happen.

You got that right. It's NOT going to happen!

So far we have 17 entries into the system. (I hope that's not sharing too much info!)

Seems like a very well designed site--- easy and intuitive, which means i can use it.
Hats off-- will hopefully get out on the water this week and be able to enter enough data to skew the trends!

Guys Mike has rolled out the website, the angler survey, etc.

Until we get a little further along, the best way you can help the LSBC is to sign up for membership. It is only $20 per year for an individual membership and that money is going to a worthy cause. You can sign up on the internet via the website with paypal, or you can download the membership application and sign-up via regular mail.

We will be needing some additional volunteers once we get further along with the development of the LSBC, but for now we really need to get members.

Please don't sit on the sideline when it comes to the protection and enhancement of the striper fishery on Lake Lanier.

A brand new Chrysler Cordoba, a trip for two to Niagara Falls, a new set of luggage, and a years supply of Rice-A-Roni (the San Francisco treat)!!!

What you get is the knowledge that you are participating in the establishment of an organization dedicated to the conservation/management/watchdog of the Lanier striper fishery. This is a local non-profit conservation organization not the Bassmasters LOL!!

We will be giving out stickers to members (we are still working on some graphic design issues), and we are putting together a prize package to be drawn at random from the membership (details are still in the works).

The cost an individual membership is only $20 per year( that is $1.67 a month, $0.38 a week, $.05 a day).

The board members are Mike Maddalena, Clay Cunningham, Larry Brenner, Bryan Brueck, and myself, plus Tom Blackburn is providing a lot of assistance in the accounting/legal side of things. Many of you know at least one of the guys on the board, if you have questions call, PM, or email them direct. Better yet, come on out to BassPro November 3rd at 7pm!!

Fellow fishermen, This is a call out! Please stop and think about the great fishery that we now enjoy! So lets ask ourselves how can we help out our lake and make a difference.

I would hope that you would say to yourself, instead of asking what can the LSBC do for me, but rather what can I do as an individule to help them. This is our eyes and ears, as well as our mouth piece to make the right changes, in the years to come.

We need a group such as this, who will look out for the striper fishery, and bettering the fishing, how ever we can make it happen. So for the small contibution of $20.00 and showing up at the first meeting.

We will be supporting the few that will put in countless hours of time, work, and effort to make sure that the fishery is looked out after, far beyond what we can do ourselves. We need to support the few that who are willing to give up there time and effort, so that the many of us will benefit.

So consider yourself an asset to a worthy cause, and join forces with what could honestly be the best future we have for our fishery. This will be a hard fight, and if it is not looked out after, we could suffer greatly in the future.

Please join us for the first meeting, and you will better understand how much can be accomplished with your small fee of joining this worthy cause. I hope to see you all there, and meeting some new faces as well. COME ON OUT AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!! smile cool

one of you tech freaks should create a smart phone app that can be customized with a calender. So you can add things like tournaments, full moon, water release, striper club meetings stuff like that. Anyways...so once again we can just come out to bass pro on the 3rd without signing up and join the action then right?

We will have applications at the meeting for those that wish to join at that time. If you are uncertain that you want to join, just come on out to hear what the LSBC is all about and make up your own mind.

There will be information posted on the LSBC website showing what we went over at the meeting also.
