For those of you who don't know, the Lanier Striped Bass Coalition (LSBC) is being formed.
Our somewhat lengthy mission statement is as follows:
To lead in the conservation and preservation of striped bass on Lake Lanier and to be a participating and active partner with all levels of government in successfully maintaining a thriving and healthy population of striped bass on Lake Lanier.
We have completed the process of incorporating as a non-profit organization. The bylaws have been completed, an internet domain name has been secured, a website is in development and a striper fishing creel report data collection system is being developed.
Hopefully, before too long we will have an "official" announcement, conduct our first meeting and begin recruiting members and sponsors and hold elections for it's board of directors.
Our vision for the LSBC is to be a organization where all the vested parties in Lanier's Striper Fishery - guides, clubs, tackle manufacturers, bait stores, local businesses, recreational angers can work together with the DNR and other government agencies in ensuring that Lanier has the best striper fishery possible. We aim to facilitate, coordinate and lead, not replace or compete with any existing organization.
We sincerely hope that we can get every one's support in this endeavor.
P.S. I guess I should have put this in the correct section!! Clay can you please move it for me. Thanks!
