The striper fishing was a little tougher this morning. However, we did manage to piece together a good morning. All of our fish came on downlines 28 ft deep over a 40 ft bottom except for the largemouth pictured below. The lgmouth came on a freeline later in the morning in 10 ft of water. If you just want to pick up some fish try the freeline on the windy points in the mouths of the creeks. A good number of bass are pulling up on them once the wind picks up. Going back to the stripers, the stripers are pulling up into the larger coves off of the main lake to feed. The best time continues to be from 8 to 10 a.m. Pick a short point in the mouth of these coves and wait for the fish to come in and out of the coves. Many of these short points are the same ones we fish in June. Some days you will pick the right cove and some days you will not. If you miss the bite you might as well go bass fishing. I have been fishing north of Browns Bridge the last couple of days and I have done fairly well. I don't think the fishing is better up north but it is as good as down south. Traditionally, the south end is better in September.
