I just got message from the DNR saying that as of now they are planning on all facilities to shut down at midnight tonight. This will also include national parks. They shut them all down when this happened in '95.

Being the kick-ass guy that i am; i assembled a list of the city/county parks on Lanier. I think all of these have ramps. Your Corp pass will not work at these parks, so bring your show show money.

Charleston Park
Forsyth County
770-781-2215

Clarks Bridge Park
City of Gainesville
770-945-9531

Holly Park
City of Gainesville
770-945-9531

Lanier Point Park
City of Gainesville
770-531-2680

Laurel Park
Hall County
770-945-9531

Longwood Park
City of Gainesville
770-945-9531

Mary Alice Park
City of Cumming
770-945-9531

River Forks Park
Halll County
770-945-9531

Warhill Park
Forsyth County
770-945-9531

Young Deer Park
Forsyth County
706-344-3646

I guess the Federal government is going to punish us for their misconduct. Best thing they could do is give the parks ro the State of Georgia. If they spent less money "fixing" things like they did the road out to the point between the Vann Pugh parks, the government might not have to shut down. I'm still mad about what they did to that road. That point was a great place to fish.

Went out and did some fishing in one of my favorite parks this afternoon. Hooked a monster that bent my pole almost to the ground. My line broke even though I had my drag set right. I guess the rocks chewed it up. Damn thing broke 20lb Power Pro. The fish was running like mad, but as I reached down to pick up the pole, the pole bounced back up anf the line went slack. Bummer, but still fum.

It's really great for congress to shut everything down just as the fishing is getting good. I don't blame the republicans, somethings got to give. It amazes me that federal employees will get back pay when they return to work. In otherwords, they get a paid vacation while the rest of us get punished. I guess Planned Parenthood needs more money to kill babies with. That's my rant for the day. I'm pissed.

Quick correction. War Hill is dawson county so it is a different pass as well. Passes can be bought at Rock Creek Park.

Heard that they were not shutting them down this weekend from another buy on GON. He said he knew a Corp Ranger at Lanier and that he said everything would be cool this weekend. But things could change Monday.

Which one is the closet to Oakwood?

Will the marinas allow you to launch a boat for a fee?

Thanks Brett

No government shutdown, for now. They agreed to have a separate vote on baby killing.

I talked to te corp last night and they said they would have shut down the ramps that had gates. This was mostly for the swimming, but if they didn't have seperate gates, they would close the gates.
They made a deal and for now, no shut down, should be good to go for now.
