Started out in the morning (6:30) in the dark throwing McSticks. You can see the color in the picture. Had a whole bay of Stripers erupting for an hour. Never did get bait in the water till sun up. Landed 7 had another 5 or 6 on. Fish averaged 12-18 lbs. Water temp was 58.3 At sun up things changed quickly. The fish were still there, however they dropped down to 30' deep. Nothing but window/bait shoppers from there. Never boated any after 8:00am. Went back out at 4:30PM with my oldest daughter and son. My daughter managed a couple in the 20's. My son was sickened with his 12 pounder. It was my daughters 1st and 2nd Striper ever caught. Both in the low 20's. She now thinks there is nothing to this Striper fishing. The 1st fish came on a planer banged off a dock. The 2nd and third came off prop wash baits 10' behind the boat. Fished at dark again. We caught 4 more on McSticks. These fish were in the 8-10 lb range. 1st time in a long while I saw that many Stripers in a day. 14 Striper. Fished 4 hours in the am, 2 hours in the afternoon and 2 hours in the later evening. Spring has come, finally.

I am loving it! I hope the are biting after this rain! That is a proud daddy right there!

Great job Bob and kids. That striper fishing is easy.... Tell her I havent got a 20 yet. I took 2 of my boys out at dark and 45 mins into it the rain came. Two nice guys helped us put the boat on the trailer. The wind got real bad and since it was my 2nd time trailering a boat (well they got soaked). I cant take this for granted, but my son Danny backed the trailer down on his first attempt to take it out. He did a better job than I did dropping it in. Maybe next time we will catch a fish.

Reminds me of a Vegas trip when I was young. A girl with me was being a wallflower at the tables, so I put money down at craps for her. She won. And won. And won.

Finally, after an hour or more of winning constantly, she looks up and says, "how do you lose money at this game?"

Tom it was my pleasure to help with the boat. I just wish the wind would have held off for just a few more seconds and we would have had it up there the first time. Your son did a great job backing the trailer in and when he said it was only the second time trailering the boat I figured an extra hand would be useful. Anything I can do to help.
