Hit the water this morning for the oakwood tournament. We put in a 6am and it took us forever to get to the spot we were fishing. The fog was so bad you couldnt see anything, No dock lights nothing. We got there and had to wait a few minutes before we could start fishing at 7am. First cast fish on, then another and another. Good fish but not as good as yesterday. After 9am the bite started to really slow down and the fish were hitting deeper and deeper as the day went. At first they would hit 2 foot down. By 11:30 we had to fish 30 foot over a 50 foot bottom. It was slow so by 12:30 we headed for the ramp to go to the weight in. We ended up with first place and big fish. caught 60 fish for the day and some money to take home. It was a Good day on the water.

Awesome. How do the crappie tourneys work as far as weight? Total weight of fifty fish or what? What are the payouts for bigfish and tourney?

its your biggest 7 total weight. If your in the big fish side pot then you weight the biggest of your fish. Depending on the amount of boats its 16 boats pas 1st and big fish,7 to 10 pays 1st,2nd and big fish 11 to 20 boats pays 1st,2nd and 3rd plus your big fish

Thanks, it was fun either way, I was surprised that we got it with the fish we had, I was thinking it was just tough for us after 9am but most everyone said it slowed down for them to

I have been finding the best bite to be early or late. sometimes you get them to turn on in the middle of the day for awhile but overall mid day has not been that good

Wow! If I'm in the same crappie TX as you, I want to be on your boat. smile

Congrat's, and, thanks for all the reports and pictures! You're making me want to give these smaller fish a shot, especially this time of year.
