Things looking better for the crappie. Did not get to fish long today but did get to fish a few docks on the way in from building brush and caught a few deep under the docks. Lots of stain up the lake which will be a good thing. The fish were as deep in the shade as possible. All our bites were at least 15 ft deep using the popeye jig. Once we would get away from the deepest shade nothing. If we get good weather next week like they are saying, I imagine the guys who fish for crappie seriously will be catching a 100 or more a day.

I have been busy making baits for spring and with the recent weather and reports from friends I just have not had much motivation to get out there. But Capt. Clay is right, next weeks stable weather should get a good bite going and more reason to get back out there. I plan to start hitting them daily on friday in to next week. trolling in the morning on hitting the docks after the sun gets up good. Look for steep rocky banks to warm up and hold the heat in for them and they should be there

Thanks Micro! I need to pick up some jigs from you. Do you have any at Oakwood?
