I recently purchased a lowrance fish finder 480m its suppose to be a single freq. 200khz but instead the DF transducer 50/200khz was sent instead of just the single freq. what i'm asking is it okay to use the DF just on 200khz and will my power watts etc.. fuction just as good as a single transducer

Other then it's HUGE size it should work fine.

If I am not mistaken, the cone angle for 200khz on the dual is a much wider (better) pattern then the single 200khz. You might want to call Lowrance and verify. I remember it being a fairly large difference. You will mark a larger area the deeper the water is under your boat, which is good for finding fish, but might be fustrating as they might not be RIGHT under the boat. Lowrance has some good tutorials on cone angles. Recommended reading.
