Was out on Wed. AM fishing in the north end. Fish have not all went south yet. The fishing was terrific. Searched for about 1+ hrs. before locating a very large school just off the main channel. MANY THANKS to the other couple of boats for spotting them. Still deep, about 80-90' bottom and fish were suspended below 30-35' some deeper. Water temp about 82F with WSW winds. They were rising to the bait in a feeding frenzy (fished 25-35' down). We managed to boat some fish before the rains showed up. The first boats to find this school must have had a BLAST and caught many fish. It took about 10 minutes of rain/pressure drop to spook the fish. BAM! BAM! they were gone. Used every effort to relocate the school but NO LUCK. Tried the same area 1 hr. later no good. Managed to locate another much smaller batch very close to the edge of the main channel. Deeper bottom 95-110'. Fish suspended rising up from 40-45' to the bait at 35'. Great fishing day. Come on out and try to find the elusive STRIPPERS. Its great fun when you find a bunch. Don't be disappointed when lots of "window shoppers" turn up their noses at your bait. Some are still hungry/aggressive. Good luck. Capt Dave Bush aboard the "Lady Rose".
