Last year about this time I was crappie fishing my honey hole and ran into a school of white bass. I must have caught 20 of them in an hour. No more bait. Went back the next day and SLAYED them. The following weekend they were gone. AND I haven’t seen them since. Does anybody know the white bass pattern? They sure were fun and great eatin.

I also caught a perch that day…In fact we caught spots, whites, crappie, perch, catfish, and a gar all in a half day.

Looking at the regs this morning, I noticed the whites are in the same “limit” category as stripers and hybrids. You’d think they’d get there own category. They feed like crappie and I can’t imagine them getting over 22 inches…

The whites are about all gone. Consider yourself extremely lucky. I can't remember the last one I caught. Herring eat the eggs in the Spring now.

Clay- what are you going to do to bring this species back to War Hill? I'm counting on you.

If you can please get rid of the herring in the lake this will bring the whites back!

i guess the massive amount of bait helps make Lanier one of the best Striper lakes...

I started on it the other day. Caught about a 100 herring. Only a few billion more to go before they spawn again.
