Finally got on fish good after several skunks. All fish were caught on downlines, 30 foot bottom from 12:00-2:00. mid to mouths of southern creeks. All eatin size (hence the 30 foot bottom). Had all 4 rods go down at one point and boated 2 of them by myself. Had a slow morning, ended up having to drop my buddy off and fish alone, then the fishing picked up. Go figure.

You know, I’ve been in a slump for the last year and a half. For those who know me and for those that don’t like me, this will bring you great pleasure. P-Line makes a fluorocarbon “coated” line and a 100% fluorocarbon. I found this out this week. I thought I was saving some serious jack by “finding” an 8 dollar fluoro…In fact I just wasted the last year and half of my life. Soon as we changed the leaders out to 100% fluoro we caught fish the rest of the day. I say this not to set myself up for a blog beating but to save others from trying to be cheap when it comes to tackle.

Cant wait to get back out there.

Side note- if your mortgage rate doesn’t start with a 3 or LOW 4 you need to PM me.

Glad you figured it out, wish I could figure out how to catch these darn things. I don't think anyone wants to see someone (anyone) have bad luck out there. Except maybe in a tx laugh

B There is not a person on this forum that goes out and slays them every time. I personally went through the same experience with Vanish fluorocarbon. I would not recommend this crap to my enemy. I changed to Bass Pro XPS fluoro and have been very pleased with it. It runs about $20 bucks but is well worth the price.

Suffix was selling the leader material at half price. I picked up 5 rolls. That is the fluorocarbon that some fishermen in the Oakwood striper club swear by. I also got a free hat by ordering the white one that they did not have in stock. They sent me a charcoal one at no charge.
