What a picture perfect day yesterday. It seems like everytime I manage a weekday off and make the trip to the pond from Woodstock its a blue bird day. It sure made the lack of catching stripers a pleasurable one. Put in at Charleston, and fished from mouth of six mile south. Finally found a ton oif fish in the mouth of Bald Ridge - which kicked up the adrenaline but the fish (at least the striped variety) would not bite AT ALL! We downlined 4 bb's at a time and had them at 30, 35 and 40 over the best looking spaghetti I've seen this year (only 5th or 6th trip to LL). No bumps, pulldowns except by a few spots who were chasing shad all over the place. We managed to stay on these signficant numbers of fish for 45 min or so but could not get any to commit. We changed bait often, tried all speeds of power reeling with live bait and bucktails - then finally broke out the leadcore but still could not produce. One spot finally sacrificed himself for the benefit of one of my crew and that was it for the day.

We headed north to Two mile, Mtn View and Flat Creek from 4 til 6 but could not find much to drop to.

We did see one fish boated trolling in bald ridge on another boat, but am curious to see and hear how others did yesterday.

Sorry to hear the fishing was tuff for you yesterday.

I was also out for the evening bite in approximately the same places as you were too, although not so far north. I found VERY LARGE schools in 3 places.

Some schools would scatter fairly quick, others lingered around much longer, but I was able to pick off a few from every school I fished.

I had a great day yesterday for numbers but the sizes were a bit small.

I took some screen capture shots and they are still on my Lowrance. The one below is from my cell phone as I was rubbing it in my brothers face I was on some serious fish while he was not cry

Some days they bite, some days they dont. Sept 1 was my day I suppose.

We were on schools just like this as well...I took a screen shot on my phone as well but it didn't come out as well. I've never been on such a thick group of fish and come away with nothing-oh well.

Congrats on your day and glad you they hit for you.

There are fish in Bald Ridge. You should be able to catch some there early. My son and I went last night and did pretty good. We fished Two Mile and around the sail boat races in the mouth of Orr! We had 6 solid bites in 3 hours. Lost 2 break offs and had one pull the bait off. Got 1 bass and one stripe in the boat. It was good to see so many fish on the graph. We caught all the fish on lines down 40 ft. Even with some trees around. Mostly slick spots around trees.

I've been fishing the same area for the past 3 days and been out 4 of the last 5 days, I've managed to catch at least one every time... heck you guys might of saw me if you roamed pass the mouth of six mile for I was the GOOK in the blue bass tracker..
yesterday was the best day by far.. with 6 total fish, well at least thats the best I've done so far with 18 herrings every trip, and must I have to say these herrings die with the quickness at 30ft.. Today I only managed one dinker but lost 2 biggun to the trees.... I'm back tomorrow morning but am planing on launching at East Bank and fish that general area....

Simon, if you're launching at East Bank, make sure you check real good out toward the mouth of the cove that the ramp is in. There is a small island straight out from the ramp, I've caught fish over a 45-55 foot bottom right there a few times and saw quite a few in the deeper water out in the middle of the cove mouth 80-100 feet.

Good luck.

Yep. That pic was forwarded to me while sitting at work yesterday. Frustrating to say the least! Way to get on them!

I see your jig ripping through the school. We torn the up last year over the river channel jigging. I haven’t caught the first one this year jigging. You reeling fast or slow?
