Well I got out this weekend on Saturday with a great group of guys, and we had quite a few laughs as well as catching some nice fish.
And as the reports I recieved, along with what I have seen and read on the forum, it was a pretty tuff few days on the pond. We had a cold front (for what it was) and the water temp has fallen around 5 degrees from the previous weeks. Now you can add an eastern wind with 20 mph gusts and this all adds up to a fishing quandary.
Now add a few days past the full moon into the equation, one might think hard about just staying home...LOL
One day the fish won't hit down lines, and the next they won't hit lead core, then throw in they just won't hit period. This is an odd year being we have had temps in the early 90's for a long time and the fish still have not gone to the river channel. Now the temps are starting to fall and I believe there is a good chance they will never make it as a whole.
I have been lucky the last few days, that even in all these mixed up conditions, I was able to find a couple of good schools to work.
Sunday Janet and I found a group of fish again as we worked them over the best we could before the fish blew out. I was marking many singles and a few hear and there, but for the most part they just didn't seem interested. So when conditions are in the red; I feel very fortunate to walk away with an average of 7 per day.
I will tell you all this; some days you are the bug and some days you are the windshield. I may be having a terrible day and then you see somebody else had a banner day and vise versa! If we stick with it and work hard we will persevere.
I am including a few pics from this weekend. "Tight lines"
