I got a really late start Sunday and ended up on the water just before lunch. I stopped at Oakwood Bait and Tackle to get my usual stockpile of bluebacks. Larry showed me a new Pulse Jig which Bill Carson had used successfully earlier in the week. I bought several of the 7/16 Pearl and a bag of Zoom White Ice Flukes. Dillon from the store ended up going with me and boy did we have a ball. The wind was a huge factor but we managed to have a successfull day in spite of that as well as the idiots that like to see how close they can ride to your lead core lines. The Pulse Jig is definitely a winner. We managed several on lead core with it. We marked fish on the HDS and put in waypoints while trolling, then came back and dropped herring on those locations. Surprisingly, the schools were in 30-45 feet of water. We ended up with 13 Stripers, one spot, and three that never made it to the net. Dillon was great company and quite a fisherman. Had I gotten there at 6AM to buy bait, Larry could not have been so generous with letting Dillon leave the store.
