Many of you know how hard I have tried to catch a striper. Well, it has happened.

My 19 yr old brother arrived this week from Michigan to spend some time fishing with me before he heads off to the Air Force. I figured this would be a great time to learn the drop-shot, so we tossed out the net to gather up some spottails. We headed to a ledge I saw on the chart that looked great for spotted bass and 50 yards from it, the sonar exploded with spaghetti. I told my brother to drop it down just above them and 2 minutes later we had a guest in the boat.

I cannot believe I finally got a striper. I have really worked hard for this moment and it sure was rewarding. It was an added bonus that my brother was with me.

Two quick photos and he swam off.

Your first striper is one you will always remember, congrats bassadict.

Congrats also and thank you to your brother. My 10 yrs with the Air Force were some of the very best of my life. They can be for him too.
