Heading up to Blairesville in a couple of weeks for Labor day weekend and have decided to pull the boat up there. Has anyone heard of any reports up that way? I know Mike Mad and Woody frequent the lake sometimes, so any help will be appreciated. This lake is known for some good sized stripers and I hate to waste my time on the green fish.

Other than that I will treat it like Lanier and scout around until I find fish. Also any places that sell bait around the area if anyone knows. This will be the first time on the lake for me. I plan on stopping by Oakwood B&T on the way and stocking up on BB's.

I have not been up in the last couple years. This time of year I did well fishing really deep tight to the bottom. Be sure to keep the graph so you can see the 100 ft bottom. Don't be surprised if you find yourself fishing 80 ft deep or more. Be sure to check the very mouth of the creeks. I have not been up there as much since they started adding the hybrids.

Thanks Clay. If I get on hybrids that will be fine but pulling a striper from 80ft would be better. I will post when I get back and plan on making a few late fall and winter trips up there since they drain the lake down to a river. Pulling big baits on the bank is my kind of fishing! Anyway, my wife's parents live 10min from the lake so my lodging is taken care of.

Also they keep their horses on a large piece of property that has a pond and I know I have seen gizzards in it. So when time comes I can get some bait from there.

Don't count on them as your only source. The NGSC had an away tx there last year and Hughes had all their stock die the day before the tx and the other places had none. Luckily we had a bunch of folks coming up the morning of the tournament that bought extras for those of us that were already up there. From my understanding, the bite is only good very early and when they are pulling water. It is very small and you can cover the whole main lake area in a couple of hours.

Appreciate it Brett and from looking at the lake map you can run from one end to the other in no time. I am betting towards the dam will be my area to fish.

If you are a visiting angler on Lanier we tell everyone south of Browns Bridge right now, so I was hoping for the same info there. I'm sure I will find fish somewhere.
