Well I hope a few people made it out today in the rain and it was worth it. Made it to the bait store this morning but that was it.

It was well worth it today. The bite didn't get strong until noon, but when it was on, it was on. Ran out of bait today and tried leadcore with no results.

I hate I missed out on the tournament, but congrats to David as well.

Thanks guys, I had a great day. Caught a nice fish in two mile early. Left there and pulled lead towards Flowery branch and got three. Got in FB and found a huge school. They were in 30 ft on a 50 ft bottom caught on downlines. I had two big fish get off. One had to be over 20. No pics. My dsl is down from the storm.

This morning was as wicked as it gets! Jim and I spent at least an hour taking cover at the Bait Shack. We only ended up with 1 fish in the Oakwood TX. We fished for the shallow stripes and couldn't get them motivated...sounds like the deeper fish were the ticket. Congrats to Rooster, Tim/Jeff and Alan Silver-Fin!

Heck, it's just nice to be back in the game again (not to mention, ride around in a world-class fishing boat!)!!!

Only boated one Saturday. Acutaly caught it while hanging out under browns bridge waiting on the storm to pass. Lighting sapped the bridge right over our heads...craziest sh-- Iv'e ever seen on the lake. borderline suicidal, but we were so trapped. The storm was all around us, so i guess the bridge was a good idea??? looking back, i would have gone to the marina, and got the f off the lake!

Sunday was way better. Managed a 15 pounder on downline then several poyboys on leadcore. All in six mile. We checked out other hot spots, but should have kept the leadcore in the water longer at six mile instead of running up and down the lake.

I got stuck in a lightning storm in the Keys once. A water pump died on an inboard/outboard or something.

Our radio antenna and graphite rods were emitting a high pitch squeal. I don't mean from fishing line in the wind either. It was electricity.

Scariest 2 hours of my life

Plan B-- saw you in 6 mile sunday and spoke with you briefly before we headed out of there; we were in the sea chaser with the bimini trying to keep the melanomas from forming
We hooked a couple of wallet size while there, and my son and i had a couple of large fish on but lost both with break-offs-- the first one was just a brief encounter with my son grabbing the rod, screaming line and then the "oh dang!". I adjusted the drag on that rod and a second one hit a little while later and was taking off like a COPS police chase.... and then my son's idiot old man thought: why don't I put a jes tad little more pressure on that ol boy, y'know, just a touch...and well, don't need to elaborate.
I'm just the kind of guy that needs to relearn the same lesson over and over and over....

Still-- we had fun; great day to fish a while, swim a while and fish some more. What do people that don't fish do for fun, anyway? I mean, besides waste their lives?
