EPA Asked to Ban Lead Shot and Sinkers

A group of environmentalist, fresh off success of banning some lead shot in California are now petitioning the EPA to ban lead shot and bullets and sinkers from use in the US and US waters. The petition was filed today.

Download the press release in support of their position (PDF)

http://www.abcbirds.org/conservationissues/threats/Final%20TSCA%20lead%20ban%20petition%208-3-10.pdf

This is a perfect reason for sportsmen to understand that if we are not involved in politics, those who are will ban us.
In the next month, Sportsmen will learn who supports us and who opposes us.

Those who remain silent on this issue provide tacit support to the effort to ban lead shot. This is just one of the many examples that are showing us that elections matter.

Read it and get mad.

Sincerely,
Steve Burch

Bullets are high as a ga pine. Imagine how much they will be if they are not lead. Have to get a loan to buy one box. How much is the current price difference?

I'm actually ashamed to say that I'm from California right now. The crap starts there and rolls down hill to the rest of the states. Proposition 8 !!!!!!!!!!! That's all I will say about that.

California nuts using the EPA (Federal Government) to force their leftist agenda on the rest of us. Seems like the state wildlife and game agencies would be better prepared to make a decision such as this. They'd be more accountable too. If California wants to ban lead, then let California ban it and leave the rest of us alone. Will someone explain the concept of subsidiarity to these people.

Personally, I think it's a way to drive up the price of ammo.

I think lead is already banned in Ca and a couple other states. They don't have to get hunting banned if they can get it too expensive to go.
