Had a really good trip this morning. We caught a very good number of stripers on the downline 28 ft deep over a 40 ft bottom on the end of a short point. The very same type of fishing we had in June before the mega schools showed up. Had to hit a good number of points to find the right one but when you do it is wide open. As you can tell from my posts from earlier in the week, the fishing is hit or miss due to the lake starting to turnover. However, don't let this keep you from going fishing. Most days over the next few weeks will be good with a few bad mixed in. Lastly, the trolling bite has been nonexistent ever since a couple days after the hurricane. The water temp is around 81 degrees. Some people are seeing a little cooler. For some reason, my graph has always read a little higher temp. than most other graphs. See everyone on the water, just fish as if it is June. One last thing, the best bite this week has been from 8 to 10a.m. Still no word on the night bite.

Clay,

What area of the lake are you finding the stripers. Heading out for a few hours in the morning.

Thanks

I am new to the site and would like to introduce myself. My name is Walker Holder. I have been boating on Lanier for 20 years but have never gotten serious about fishing it. Most of my fishing experiance is with trout and surf fishing on the coast of N.C.
I got skunked myself yesterday with the exception of one cat fish I cought 40 feet deep over 90 feet of water. I thought it was strange for the cat fish to come up that far. I am trying to learn the pattern but am struggling. I really appreciate all of the information on the web site. I have been watching many of you guys catch fish out there over the past few weeks. My Dad and myself are the unsucceful pair in the Searay cutty. We appreciate any nudges in the right direction.
Thanks,
Walker
