More fishing!

I'm back and ready to ask even more questions about spot fishing on the banks of Lake Lanier. I know all of you guys have fancy shmansy boats and I can't wait for the day that I have my own.

Anyway, I want to know how the shore and dock fishing is around the southern side of the lake, particularly around the Sunrise Cove, Aqualand, and LLSC areas. I know that right in the belly of the cove that touches Old Federal's camp ground, LLSC and Aqualand is a hot spot out in the open water, but I can't get to those areas so easily. I'm refined to casting distance from any dock or bank.

Is there any place where I can have a promising set of strikes in that area. My Toyota Camry ( I call him Tank) and I can go anywhere that there's a road. I am familiar with all three of the marinas listed. Please please please, tell me that I can have some luck with freelining a minnow or using a float and minnow in these areas. I fish with artificial lures and worms, but I want some real action. And, from what I understand, nothing works better than live bait.

The well-used boat ramps have a lot of fisherman returning and dumping live and dead bait overboard as they get near the ramp....this attracts spotted bass and big catfish, so if you can get a cast out past or near the docks w/o getting in trouble with boats and large, sunburnt, and short-tempered boaters (i.e., me) you can probably do well. Try the point toward the hazard marker and to the right of the dock at Old Federal; also, early and late on the main point between the dock and the swimming area at Old Federal should have some cruisers. Hooked some big bass and stripers just off that point in the spring.

Thanks so much, My father has a sailboat in the marina, so I always take the utmost care not to cast into, hit, or in anyway damage another boat.

If anyone else has some information for me, I'd love to hear it.
