Had a good crew on Saturday. Fished the area from Browns Bridge to Gainesville Marina. Caught eight fish: two Stripers and six Spots on Trout, Herring, and Jerkbaits. For the Stripers, it was definitely an early bite. We caught the Stripers at 7:10 and 7:40. The combined length of the Stripers was 54 inches - not enough to place in the top three of the tournament. The Stripers were on the edge of the dead weeds near the shore in about three feet of water and that's where we ran the In-Line Planer Boards.

If you are not using Planer Boards, consider a stop at Oakwood Bait & Tackle for a "primer" on how to best use them. They have the best boards - hands down!

If it weren't for the snow this morning, I would swear that spring has sprung. Congrat's on an 8 fish day!

Tom, I went the other direction Saturday. Up the Chestatee, threw bucktail and Pointer. Wish I had brought my crappie rigs.
Water temp was 52/54 by noon and stained in the backs of creeks.
My first time out this year, and the skunk was on me big time.
I have 2 yellow-bird planners? They seem to do OK.
Thanks for the good report.
