Fished today with Don Brown. Water temp was 48.3. Fished shallow as the picture shows. Caught 2 Stripers 17lbs and 13.5 lbs. Both fish came on small Shad/med shiner on a float. We saw Stripers swirling on the surface from 7:30 to about 9:00. Still lots of dying bait everywhere. Stripers were picking them off the top. Fished from daybreak to 10:30. Water is still very stained.

Way to go Don and Bob. Nice fish.

Great job. I guess we got it wrong when we went out with big bait. We did have one smack a big bait without a hookup. Maybe next weekend will be better.

We to finally had some success. Caught a 18 pound 35 incher on a medium free lined trout. Its been so long, I forgot the sheer power of these bad boys. Not to mention the fish was caught on my new (to me) catalina’s. I’ve never had “nice” combos, so this was a blast in itself. Also caught a 15 pounder on a downed medium trout (30 over 60). Had several other hits and bent rods that didn’t hook up. Perhaps a stinger would have produced more fish…

All action was in the middle of the creek, although we marked more fish/bait in the back…I’m thinking big fish = big water and smaller fish in the backs right now???

The next few weeks are going to be sweet! Its going to be on like donkey kong!

Glad you guys hit em hard,! Janet and I went out for only 1 1/2 hours Sunday. It started out to be a look for fish day, instead I took both dogs for the first time. Frisco the big dog loves the water and loves to be on the boat. So I decided we should bring the new baby girl the Jack Russel named (Princess) "Ya I know"

We start out and I am launching some planer boards when Janet yells out "get the net Princess just jumped in" well I am in disbelief that it is cold and windy and this thin skinned little girl dives in the water "WHAT"

When she first went in she went down in the muddy water and couldn't even see her. Then she popped up hauling the bacon and staying up with the boat already going .65 I could not believe she could swim so good and she had never even seen water. So we dry her off and Janet sticks her in her coat with her head popping out at the top looking like alien.

Who knows what the future holds for taking this wild girl out on the boat, but I am sure she can't wait until then. This little girl is fearless.!!!

Maybe she had located some fish. Who needs to spend a couple thousand on a fishfinder when you have her.
