A lot of people are frustrated right now, and many of them are like you and tired of being skunked. As far as I'm concerned, never say never and keep trying. Just think.. if you can catch some fish when times are tough like now.. Just imagine what you will be able to do when spring comes around.

In my opinion, you learn the best when you fail.

This is a GREAT opportunity to think outside the box and try to catch some fish with "unconventional" techniques. Get out there and fish!!

Marc Wahoo! I'm pumped now. thanks marc. i feel so much better!

Please explain how to catch these winter time fish. Out of the 30 people that acualy post, 28 are skunked in the last few weeks...including myself. I've caught 3 in 13 trips...

Look at the guides, look at he regular posters. fish are not biting. it is what it is.

Move on; come on 50 water temp and come on 14" gizzes. Yea Come On. Get some.

For me, it's always worth going. I rarely _expect_ to catch anything, anyway. Catching is but one of the many enjoyments I get from fishing. The time spent with friends/family in the outdoors is what is priceless. You should have seen how beautiful everything was last Sunday. I should have taken some pics... I had plenty of free time to, since the stripes weren't cooperating.

If I get out again before the water warms, I may target crappie. I haven't been crappie fishing in years (since I discovered the striper). Maybe just a dozen BBs in case I find some stripes, though... don't want to find 'em and not have something to dangle in front of 'em. smile

I'm with Charles. It's frustrating not catching fish, but I'd rather be out there than at home doing chores. I'm definitely not loading up on bait right now though. Figure if by some miracle I catch fish and run out of bait, then I'll call it a day & go home. Think I'll lay off the tx's for awhile, feel like I'm wasting lot's of money, which I could be putting towards a new HDS.
