So, what do you use to get that skunk out of the boat!?

Water temps were as high as 49.8 way in the back of 4-mile (in 7 feet of water), at the peak of today's heat. Mostly saw the water was a few degrees less. Fished 1pm to 5:30 or so.

Found bait in the backs of both 6-mile and 4-mile, and a few window shoppers. One pull-down, but only shredded the bait a little... maybe a spot. Tried flatlines, planer boards, and downlines. BEAUTIFUL day today, and I wasn't expecting to catch. So glad to see the water temps coming up, but was told Old Man Winter is coming back this way.

We had another failed attempt at fishing for stripers today. Threadfins EVERY WHERE, some even foundering on top. How do we compete with that!!

The birds were so stuff from the easy pickens they couldn't even fly and were crashing 5-10 feet from the boat. Im sure the stripers felt the same way too with the smorgus bourge down below.

Fished from 8 - 12 and mostly saw water between 43 and 45

Im stayin on the couch until the temps are above 50F and air above 60.

On good note, it sure was nice out there today. Makes me wish for Spring that much more.

Thanks for the reports, that had to be funny watching the gulls crash down from being so full of fish. But when they are gorging themselves, the fish, they will be in a zone to want to eat almost whatever reasonable offering they see, huh? And when the dead bait goes away wont the they fish be jonesin and be more inclined to eat our baits? SOunds like a good time to be out, surely better than skunk day with NO dead shad around and gulls stuffed like toad-frogs, huh? THanks again.

Should see some heavy fish caught in the next month or two. Well that's what I hope will come from the big shad die off.
