Loc: Smyrna,
Fished south end creeks with no luck. I saw lots of shad dieing all over the place and birds galore or white Lowrances as some people call them. We marked a lot of fish deep but had no takers on blue backs, shiners or trout. I guess they are full off of all the threadfins floating down to them. We saw one guy catch one 5lb up shallow off of a bucktail on a shallow point. I think that is the only striper in the lake. The warmest water we found was 45 degrees. The good thing is my boat ran like a top after sitting for over a month in this wicked weather. I guess she forgave me for neglecting her.

I was going to withold the truth about Lake Lanier, but after your post, I better fess up. There are no more stripers in the lake. The DNR is currently stocking a handful in the back of Flat Creek daily. To catch these fish, you have to be back there before the other 37 boats catch them. smile

Good Luck.
