FINALLY!!!!!!! Convinced the boss to let me get a boat, and so I capitalized on the situation. Found this sweet little boat on craigslist, and the price was just right. It's a 17' Logic Center console (I think now they are called Triumph Boats). Came with a decent trolling motor, and John at Oakwood B&T tells me I should be able to upgrade it to a Co-Pilot. She needs a few things to make her a striper machine, but I got the big part out of the way. Can't wait to git 'er on the water. She will need a bait tank, along with some other things but it's not a bad start at all. Hope to see you guys on the pond. Tight Lines, -Marc

Congrats Marc, I still have the used heavy duty Drift Master rod holders for your boat. I did tell you when you got one they would be waiting on you all you have to do is buy the mounts. They are both left hand threads and they're your's if you still want them. Let me know and I'll leave the with Oakwood B&T.

I'm really interested in how you like it. I almost bought the same size Triumph, but they sold it the day before i went to buy it. That Roplene hull is tough as it gets. I have always thought that they should come out with a Riveboat with a jet out of that stuff. There is a pretty active Triumph owners forum out there, i'm sure you can google it up. With that hull material, you have to do some of the hardware and accessories a little different than glass boats and they guys on the forum can save you some time and aggravation.
What size engine did it come with?

It's an old school 40hp Merc Force. Doesn't sound big, but the previous owner said she'll do almost 25MPH since the boat is so light.
The biggest reason I was excited about this boat was because the floor panels are synthetic (dunno if they are plastic, or roplene or fiberglass). Since it's an older boat, I don't have to worry about the floors rotting!

Unless they changed them the whole hull/floor/transom is molded Roplene. Click on the link i posted and take a look at some of the other videos of the torture tests. They do have some issues of hull warping, but for the most part it is just cosmetic; and your right, they will never rot.

Congrats on the boat Marc. I actually have a 17' Triumph (2008 model). You will learn to love the plastic (as opposed to fiberglass) especially when you hit the dock hard by accident the first time. Brett is right that there is a great website www.triumphowners.net. For a $15 yearly subscription, you can get all the information you will ever need to maintain, fix or add features to your boat.
