I picked up my 6 year old boy at noon and took him fishing. It made his day to "trick" the school.
Anyway, I forgot that Oakwood closes early on Monday. I pulled rigs for 5 hours and didn't get a single hit. There were a lot of fish and bait on the graph in both Balus and Flat.
The poor kid hasn't brought a fish in the boat yet. Every time I take him he gets skunked. It's getting kind of funny.
Thats stinks, but I sure can relate..
I use to feel so awful on so many levels when me and 4yr old would come back with zero.
I finally wised up and took him out last summer with leadcore. He finally hooked up and 'caught' his 1st and 2nd on the same trip.
I recorded it on video and took 4000 pictures. I know I will remember it for the rest of my life as it was by far my greatest day fishing yet.
