Hit the lake with herring & downlines and had no luck. Could not find the fish (fished points). Did anybody have any luck on Thursday or was is just a slow day?

I was just a slow day I talked to a lot of people today at the store and most didnt even boat a fish. I know this morning was tough also, I suspect that after this cold front pushes through and we get some stabil weather early next week the fishing should pick up greatly. The top water bite is just around the corner though, get ready for the always entertaining combat fishing!! Good luck out there dont give up.

Chris

Thanks for the reply Chris. I'm new with the boat so I may not be reading my Lowrance right (settings may be off)...I think I see fish but get nothing when I drop. May need to hire a guide to go out in my boat one day to help me figure it out. I've heard the combat fishing is very interesting. I am always willing to do whatever it takes to catch fish so I will be up for the challenge.

Thanks again.

No problem, If you are new to fishing or electronics I would strongly advise to get a guide that is by far the best way to get an "edge" when you are first starting out or just strugling with a paricular pattern (i.e. u-rigs).When you hire a full time guide you are geting someone who fishes the lake almost everyday and does there best to stay on the fish and can answer about any question you throw at them it is deffinatley worth the money. If you decide to go with a guide a would suggest Clay C. or Brian N. I have fished with them both and they are top notch both use and know a lot about Lowrance electronics and would be happy to help you.
