Fished my favorite January mid lake spots on Lanier for line- sides yesterday. I pulled U-Rigs from noon till 5. Found schools in 30-40 ft. of water. The schools were transient and would suddenly appear over slick bottom, stay for 15 or so minutes, then move on to somewhere else. I usually see them relating more to structure this time of year but am seeing more schooling up on the move right now with the best spots being points and humps near the main lake.

Ended up catching 8 or 10 over 22” and 4 under 22”. It seems there are a lot of schoolies just over 22” in the lake. My best for the day was 27” and about 9lbs or so.

mama mia that's a bowl-a spaghetti wit the meat-a-sauce there!!

i'll bet the near-constant water release has made the schooling more fluid and mobile
