Hi all.

Yesterday's plan was to drop flex-its over the side on marked brush piles.

I went out yesterday and tried to figure out how to read the new HDS-7 and i marked some fish around 25-40 feet in a creek channel. The thing is, how can I watch my flex-it spoon on the sonar and keep it directly under the boat when the wind is blowing me off the spot before I get the spoon down? I obviously cannot drop anchor. Do you guys just drop a marker buoy down and troll over it?

You need to fish with the bait. Most of the time the bait will be up in the creeks enough that the wind will not be an issue. Mack made a good video about vertical fishing a few years ago if you can find a copy.

It seems like a lot of the past reports on other sites indicate to search for brush piles on the edge of the creeks out on the main lake and "lure" the fish out of the trees. That just did not seem to feasible for what I was trying to accomplish. I was rockin and getting thrown all over the place. Thats when I headed back into the coves and tried the drop-shot. Not a bite all weekend, but I will figure it out some day.
